Hello, and welcome. This journal is a place where I'll share occasional short pieces of writing — not clinical advice, but reflections on the themes that come up again and again in therapy.
Some of these will grow out of my background in anthropology: how culture shapes what we feel entitled to want, who we're allowed to grieve for, what counts as a "real" family or a "proper" relationship. Others will be simpler — a thought about anxiety, or beginnings, or the strange courage it takes to send that first email to a therapist.
I hope to write once a month or so. Nothing here is a substitute for therapy itself, and nothing here will ever draw on the stories of people I work with. But if something you read resonates, and you'd like to talk, you're always welcome to get in touch.
